A TEAM of medical professionals will be part of the Team Fiji contingent for the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.
A statement from the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee revealed a doctor and three physiotherapists will accompany the team for the two-week long event.
Vaigalo McCaig, who was also part of the team at the 2009 Pacific Mini Games in Cook Islands, has been named as the team leader.
The head physiotherapist will be Sharlene Nand who has gained experience from the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia, 2005 - 2011 South Pacific Mini Games and Pacific Games and the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in London.
Sarote Nakaora and Nishant Singh, who were with Team Fiji at the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia will be the team physiotherapists.
Cathy Wong who had served as the Team Physiotherapist to the Pacific, Commonwealth and Olympic Games, Flying Fijians Team Physiotherapist and is the 2012 Recipient of IOC Women in Sport Trophy will also be in the team.
Meanwhile, Team Fiji Chef de Mission, Alini Sovu and admin officer Jayne Niubalavu, arrived in Wallis last Saturday and are in the process of familiarising themselves with the layout of the venues and Games Village.
"WF2013 Officials will be conducting Team Fiji's delegation registration meeting (DRM) on Wednesday (tomorrow), with Sovu, who will be confirming the names of athletes and officials who will be travelling to Wallis and the events of the athletes," said the statement.
