MONEY raised in this year's Hibiscus Festival will go to a charity organisation selected by the Hibiscus Event Group Inc. (HEGI) and their executive members.
The organisation is yet to be chosen because there is a selection process to go through, says HEGI chairman Hirdesh Prasad.
"We're going to do an expression of interest first and once this is received, we have a deadline and then we'll call a meeting with our executive members and with our sponsors and all the people involved in raising for the charity," Mr Prasad said in an interview yesterday.
"We will then discuss the expression of interest list in the meeting and then once the sponsors have chosen an association they want to donate to, we'll be able to say more."
He said the expression of interest would be published next month because they were still sorting out post-Hibiscus matters.
"We'll review everything once it's all in and whoever is not entitled to it, we'll ask the sponsors if they could donate money to their causes anyway so that we can also give to the people who have applied," Mr Prasad said.
