Update: 6:28PM THE Methodist church conference saw more than 200 people gathering at the Centenary Church in Suva to participate in the week-long conference.
The first day of the conference highlighted issues that will be discussed in the coming days which includes the connexional plan of the church, review of church constitution, land registration and development, and remnant giving.
The leaders of the church were also voted back into their positions by members of the conference.
"In our Methodist constitution the system is that once they are elected they can hold the position for up to three years but annually that position must be brought up to the conference," communication secretary Reverend James Bhagwan said.
"So they have to be re-appointed annually.
"It is like a reconfirmation process, so this morning Reverend Doctor Tuikilakila Waqairatu as president, Ratu Peni Volavola as lay vice president, Rev Tevita Nawadra Banivanua as general secretary, Reverend Dr Epineri Vakadewavosa deputy general secretary were all reconfirmed to their positions."
