ANOTHER village has made the effort to become part of the Ministry of Women's Zero Tolerance Violence Free Community (ZTVFC) campaign.
Vatukacevaceva Village in Ra, was presented with a commitment certificate by the Minister for Women, Dr Jiko Luveni.
Dr Luveni, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information on Thursday, said the communities were responsible for setting up a committee to be the eyes and ears of the campaign.
"This committee is the eyes and ears of this campaign, they are fully trained to understand the causes of violence and platforms available to assist the victims," Dr Luveni said.
"The gatekeepers work closely with the relevant stakeholders like the Fiji Police Force and the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Welfare to facilitate awareness and educational programs targeting parents, children and the leaders within a community."
According to the statement, Vatukacevaceva's soqosoqo vakamarama president Ateca Namusa said she hoped the campaign would boost the awareness of women's rights in their village.
