THE Nadi Town Council has involved distinguished and highly qualified individuals to further develop infrastructure projects in the town.
The group met with the Local Government Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and the NTC special administrator Robin Ali discussing the way forward for the council.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the involvement of these individuals was to also strengthen the council's relationships with its ratepayers.
"After Mr Ali's appointment he has been working hard for the past few weeks in terms of regularising some of the practices that used to exist within the municipalities and he has given us a preliminary report," he said.
"But as part of including members of the community in Nadi in terms of giving them assistance in some of the reforms which is much needed in the municipality, we are quite happy to announce the voluntary of these qualified individuals."
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the committee would look into some of the major projects planned by the council.
The committee includes leading tourism operator Tony Whetton, Tappoo executive Krishna Murti, former mayor Dilip Khatri, Hemant Masuria, Dr Raymond Fong and Bob Lyon.
