A JUBILANT Northern Police team returned to Labasa on Thursday as holders of the Commissioner's Cup after beating Southern Police.
The Northern boys beat their Southern counterparts 12-6 to lift the prestigious trophy last weekend.
North Police team coach Jullian Ravuiwasa said they beat Southern Police through successful penalties from Ilikana Tukana.
"The last time that we won the shield was in 2005 and we are proud to have brought the shield back to the North this year," he said.
"It was a close game and we thank the supporters who supported the side during our stay in Suva.
"Now that we have ended the reign of our friends from the South we will be working at ensuring that we retain the cup next year."
Ravuiwasa thanked supporters, especially the Divisional Police Commander North and families of the players.
