A FORMER student of Kamil Muslim College in Ba has been given the chance to study in a diverse and unique learning environment.
Inayah Ali, 17, will undertake the International Baccalaureate Diploma with students from over 100 different countries at Pearson United World College in Canada.
At the farewell ceremony on Monday, Minister for Youth and Sport Commander Viliame Naupoto handed Inayah her air ticket and gave his best wishes.
"This is a program which assists and prepares students in asking challenging questions, develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture and develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures," Commander Naupoto said.
Inayah was sitting her biology paper when she received the news.
"I was called into the principal's office and I thought I was in trouble but she told me to pick up the phone and I was informed of the news and I was so happy," she said.
Ms Ali leaves Fiji on August 28.
