THE Navesidrua Brothers rugby team in Macuata defied all odds after beating Welagi 17-15 in the final of the Seaqaqa Festival Sevens tournament over the weekend.
With players like Tevita Nabuliwaqa, Iliavi Raua and Emori Vosamana, the brothers who only trained together one day, played their best to see them win the $2000 prizemoney.
The team displayed good rugby tactics and skills earning them victory at Seaqaqa Central College grounds.
Coach Ilaitia Tuvuku Vosamana said a lot of people criticised their team but the boys were focused and managed to reap the rewards of their hard work in the end.
"We thank God for the victory and also our family and supporters who turned out in large numbers to support us," he said.
