THE Assemblies of God Fiji has deferred the election of its executive board to August 2014 following the acceptance of the modified organisational structure at the 38th biennial general conference AOG Fiji in Nausori on Tuesday.
The general superintendent and 10 other positions were up for elections this year but the extension of term will allow the executive board to complete their plans for AOG Fiji before the next election.
AOG Fiji general superintendent Reverend Pita Cili said he was confident since the first day of the conference that the modified structure would be accepted.
"God is present in the proceedings of the conference. There's a demonstration of unity like never before," Mr Cili said.
He said this was attributed to the countless prayers that had been offered, building up to the conference and the spiritual emphasis on getting back to the true identity of the AOG which was the Word of God.
"The new structure will definitely streamline a lot of work and remove the blockages hindering the work of winning souls into the kingdom."
The 2014 August elections will see to the election of a new AOG Fiji general superintendent, deputy general superintendent, general treasurer, general secretary, three divisional presbyters, executive director evangelism and discipleship, executive director for mission, national language co-ordinators for the Hindi and English languages and the executive director world mission.
