IT was an enthusiastic approach to helping their community as members of Nadi's Legalega Youth Club organised a blood drive to help people in dire need of blood.
Club president Mohammed Irfaz Khan said the group banded together five years ago and now had 20 members.
"We held this blood drive because we love community work and have been doing things for our community for the past five years," he said.
"In addition, we managed to collect 12 pints of blood in one day but we could have done better. We are now going to hold blood drives in Sigatoka and Ba and focus on collecting more pints."
The group's efforts to serve their community are in line with this year's Youth Day celebrations, bearing the theme, Youth — Energy of the Nation.
"The organisation we give the blood to is Fiji Health Service Centre. Our aim for the rest of the blood drives this week is to collect between 30 and 40 pints of blood," Mr Khan said.
