WINNING Ratu Navula College under-18 coach Josaia Rokomarawa is the new Fiji U18 rugby team coach.
The Gau man replaces Eroni Vereivalu at the helm.
After a successful Deans rugby campaign, Rokomarawa was the favourite candidate.
He guided his Rt Navula team to 29 consecutive victories since 2010.
Speaking to Times Sport after last Saturday's victory, Rokomarawa said he was honoured to be given the nod.
Yesterday, Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union vice-president development Elemaca Ravulo confirmed that Rokomarawa would guide the national U18 side during their Australian tour next month.
"It is an honour for me to coach the team," Rokomarawa said.
"To be given the lead role in the Fiji U18 team is not a surprise because my record speaks for itself and I thank the executives for having faith in me to coach the side.
"I thank God for the opportunity."
Rokomarawa will be assisted by Christopher Waqa, a teacher at International School Suva. The team will be managed by Lionel Danford.
"I am looking forward to working with the boys that will be selected and hopefully we will achieve a fate that no other team has achieved apart from the President XV side that beat Australia last year."
Meanwhile the 49-member extended squad will undergo a medical and fitness test by the Fiji Rugby Union medical team at the High Performance Unit (HPU) gym today.
The Eastern and Suva players are requested to be present.
