THE driver of a vehicle carting water around Suva yesterday managed to escape injury after the truck he was driving tipped over on Reservoir Rd yesterday.
The incident was attended to by NFA and the police.
NFA CEO John O' Connor confirmed that the driver managed to escape injury.
When this newspaper visited the scene yesterday, the truck was on it's side and a crowd had gathered at the accident site.
Witnesses said the truck was travelling from Princes Rd and had tipped over after failing to negotiate the roundabout.
Mr O'Connor said the NFA received the report and arrived at the accident site with their main concern being for the safety of the driver.
"Our main concern was for the safety of the driver but when we got there we saw that he had managed to escape the vehicle safely," Mr O'Connor said.
"It was just a very simple report that a truck had tumbled so when we got there all we had to do was clean up the oil spill from the truck and make sure the rest of the truck did not catch fire."
He explained that NFA officers at the scene removed the batteries from the truck to ensure that there was no electricity that might start a fire.
