NASINU created history by lifting the first Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants premier division title at Govind Park in Ba yesterday.
Kaushik Kumar proved to be the hero for the Nasinu side after curling in a 25-metre right footer over Dreketi goalkeeper Ronal Kumar to score the lone goal.
The win ensured Nasinu finished the round-robin competition at the top with three wins from as many matches.
This is Nasinu's second silverware for the season after bagging the Vodafone Fiji FACT premier division title.
Nasinu and Dreketi will face each other in the National Football League premier playoffs this weekend.
Nasinu coach Abdul Zaman said they had completed their mission.
He said they had a few injury concerns.
"We have completed our mission by taking each game as it came," Zaman said.
"The boys have proven their worth and won the title. We have a few injury concerns. Some of the senior players like our captain Anish Kumar, Usaia Veibale and Shivneel Ram are injured. They are defenders.
"We will go back and focus on the match against Dreketi for the premier division playoffs. After that we will focus on the Inter District Competition."
Nasinu has not lost a match this season.
