THE Navua Football Association has been slapped with a fine for failing to attend the official parade during the Vodafone Fiji FACT in Suva.
Navua played the first game against Lautoka, going down 1-2.
The Navua team then proceeded to the change room. A Fiji Football Association official went to call Navua to attend the parade but he was verbally abused.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama was the chief guest during the official opening of the tournament.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said Navua's case was dealt with and the board had decided to penalise the association.
He said Nadi Football Association president Navneeda Gound apologised on behalf of his team for entering the field from the embankment end during the final rounds of the Fiji FACT at Prince Charles Park despite written warnings.
"But we will pursue the issue further," Patel said.
