THE 16 queen contestants vying for this year's Hibiscus queen crown will need to assure themselves that God lives and He will weather the storm during this journey.
Minister Solomoni Duru shared this message with the contestants during a church service at the Wesley Church in Suva yesterday.
Dressed in their Sunday best, the contestants sang hymns of praise with the congregation.
In his sermon, Mr Duru said it was important that people knew where they were going and used the Lord as their daily compass.
"Adapt to this time of change and accept Christ in your lives so that you don't lose your spiritual values," he said. "God loves you."
Mr Duru wished the contestants and the church members a blessed week.
The week-long festival is in its fourth day and last night the teen's public judging, ladies talent show and inter-denomination sing-a-long took the people by surprise at the main stage at Albert Park.
People came out in numbers to spend the sunny day at the park with friends and families while stallholders were busy preparing barbecue for their customers.
