A 33-YEAR-OLD man has become the latest road victim after he was hit by a vehicle on the Seaqaqa Highway in Macuata yesterday morning.
Confirming this, police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the victim was a teacher at a school in Labasa. The Fiji Times yesterday drove along the highway where police officers had cordoned off the accident scene.
"The victim was bumped by a twin cab while crossing the road with his bullocks. The victim was conveyed to the Labasa Hospital by police and was pronounced dead upon arrival."
Ms Naisoro said the suspect was in custody at the Seaqaqa Police Station.
Funeral arrangements were in progress at the deceased's residence in Seaqaqa.
