MEMBERS of the Hazelman family took time out of their hectic schedules for a reunion which ended with a church service at the family estate in Savusavu yesterday.
The clan celebrated the reunion with a picnic, sports activities and entertainment at their Rava Estate property.
Reunion lead organiser Felisha Hazelman Tuiloma said this was the third time they had organised such a reunion at the estate.
"The first reunion was in 2005 and the second one in 2010 where family members from as far as Samoa, USA, New Zealand, Australia and Canada to name a few attended," she said.
"This is basically a form of strengthening our relationship ties because in the past, most of us met on the streets not knowing each other. The reunion started on Wednesday where everyone got together to know more about each other.
"This is also a time to socialise, mingle and catch up with one another given the different places we live in.
"Prior to this reunion, all the adults were required to pay $200 each to pay for food bills and merchandise such as caps, sulu, family magazine and bula costumes."
Mrs Tuiloma said they managed to collect about $19,000 for the reunion.
"We will probably have our next reunion in three years and we hope to take it to another level with more of our six generations attending."
