RATU Navula College under-18 coach Josaia Rokomarawa is the top candidate to coach the Fiji under-18 rugby team.
After guiding Ratu Navula to winning their first ever Deans U18 rugby title, Rokomarawa has the edge against the other applicants who have applied for the top job for the national U18 side.
Assemblies of God High School coach Eroni Vereivalu was the coach of last year's team. Vereivalu, Chris Waqa, Samisoni Baikeitoga and Rokomarawa were the four applicants.
Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union president Napolioni Silatolu said they were yet to finalise the four applicants. He said Rokomarawa had a good record.
"Yes, the Ratu Navula coach is one of the four applicants," he said.
"Their win today (yesterday) gives him the edge over the other candidates but we still have to confirm the name of the coach later."
Rokomarawa has revealed to this newspaper that it would be an honour to coach the Fiji secondary school team.
