AD Patel College hammered neighbouring Ba school Kamil College 6-0 to win the Girls Under-16 Championship at the Fiji Football Association technical academy ground yesterday.
Form Four student Louisa Tamanitokula starred for the AD Patel College team scoring a hat-trick of goals in the fixture.
Sonali Rao scored a brace while Louisa Naba scored the other goal.
15-year-old Tamanitokula ended the two-weekend tournament with 16 goals to her name.
AD Patel, with the inclusion of the Ba women's development squad members, proved to be unbeatable in the competition to cruise through to the final after recording impressive wins.
AD Patel College principal Vinod Sharan said they started girl's soccer this year.
He said they created history by winning the first-ever U16 girls championship organised by the Fiji FA.
"The talent that we have is great," Sharan said.
"We have also started focusing on other sports. These girls have been part of the development squad.
"It is a historic win. We would like to dedicate it to all the supporters of AD Patel especially Vinod Patel. He was one man behind the scene who was instrumental in supporting us all the way.
"We would like to thank all the teachers and the parents.
"The girls displayed good soccer. We will be looking at getting our other age group teams in competitions to develop them.
"The students have wonderful talents."
The competition served as the initial selection for the Fiji U17 team.
