POLICE want to ensure that the 2013 Hibiscus Festival is incident free and have sought the assistance of parents.
Police have urged parents to pay closer attention to the movement of their children at Albert Park.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said concerns were raised after a large number of children were found wandering alone yesterday at the start of the week-long festival.
"We located a number of children found wandering alone at Albert Park.
"All have been reunited with their families," Ms Naisoro said.
"Parents and guardians are being urged to take extra precaution of their children's whereabouts as they will have a tendency to wander off unattended considering the attractions at the grounds."
Ms Naisoro said their officers were out in numbers and those children found to be lost at the grounds would be taken to the Command Forward Centre located at the main stage pavilion.
She said the centre would process the details of the children that would be announced at the Duavata Community Villa.
