TOP Fiji squash player Warren Yee has withdrawn from the P Meghji Squash Revival Championship being held at the Northern Club in Lautoka.
The Suva-based player who was the top seed in the championship was supposed to feature in the quarter-finals last night.
"I have decided to withdraw from the competition this weekend. Seeing that I have just returned from a three-month trip to China and while there, I stopped all squash and fitness training," Yee said.
"I know that many fans and friends like to follow my competition with much interest especially with professionals from Australia attending.
"Also, I will not attend this year's South Pacific Cup. I wish all the competitors and organisers the best."
Australian Daniel Condie and Jennifer Brown who are here to conduct coaching clinic are the top bets to win the championship.
Condie is the 2011 New South Wales Open winner while Brown was a member of the 2011 Australian junior team to the World Championship in Boston, USA. A total of $3000 is at stake in the competition.
