FORMER Nadroga provincial rep Filipe Kuruvoli is making a name for himself in his North Canterbury rugby club in New Zealand.
Kuruvoli and former national sevens reps Maleli Bula and Sakenasa Aca are in top gear helping their club win the South Rioge Trophy challenge against South Canterbury.
Last week, they beat Oxford in the finals of the Canterbury club competition.
Aca, a loose forward for Police in domestic competition played at outside centre while Kuruvoli switched from lock to the side of the scrum.
Bula maintained his standout performance out wide on the wing.
Filipe's father, Simione Kuruvoli said he was proud of the achievement of his son.
"He is playing very well along with his two Fijian brothers, Bula and Aca," Simione said.
"Aca was shifted to play at outside centre because his size is too small for a loose forward.
"But he is doing well there, as my son (Filipe) usually calls to update me on what is happening there.
"I am very proud of him."
Filipe played club in Canada before moving to New Zealand last season.
He represented Nadroga at provincial level, featured for the Fiji Warriors and Barbarians during the Pacific Rugby Cup competition.
