PROUD parents, teachers and police officers watched on as students of Tacirua Primary School conducted their passing-out parade on Thursday.
The parade, made up of 120 students from classes five to eight, went on without a hitch despite the muddy conditions.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Viliame Sovalevu, officer-in-charge of the Nasinu District, said police were happy to help bring out discipline in the students and that the cadet training was in line with the Duavata Community concept.
The baton of honour went to head boy and parade commander Eddie Bella, who said he was happy to win and that he learnt a lot in discipline. Headteacher Milika Matau said she noticed a marked difference with their students since the training began.
Chief guest and director for Primary Education Tomasi Rayawa said cadet training gave students the discipline to listen in the classroom.
