TRADE unionist Daniel Urai has been stripped of his driving privileges for three months and ordered to pay a sum of $300 by the Magistrates Court in Lautoka.
The sentence followed Urai's guilty verdict on a drink and drive charge.
According to divisional police prosecutor ASP Anil Prasad, Urai was sentenced earlier this week by magistrate Sujeewa Nishanka for one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The court heard that on December 21 last year, the trade unionist was driving along Vitogo Parade in Lautoka while under the influence of alcohol.
According to an initial breathalyser test, Urai's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.
