MAKING use of possession will be crucial in tonight's Digicel Cup semi-final clash between the two giants, Suva and Nadi at the ANZ Stadium.
That is the view of former Flying Fijians head coach Ilivasi Tabua.
The former Flying Fijian and Wallabies loose forward says discipline will also play a key role in the game.
He said both teams had proven their worth in the competition by reaching the knockout stages.
"Suva and Nadi will be a very exciting game to watch," he said.
Tabua said the Capital City side would rely on their strength to utilise their forwards to bulldoze their way to penetrate Nadi's wall of defence.
"Suva has the size and experience in the forwards. They will use their forwards to gain yards before allowing the backline to move."
Nadi, guided by former New Zealand sevens international Iliesa Tanivula, should not be left out of the equation, Tabua added.
He warned Suva to be alert while playing the young and energetic Nadi team.
"Nadi is a balanced team. They can play close or wide rugby. They have young blokes and are very enthusiastic.
"Suva should be mindful of these young players. They need to play it right, make the right decision especially with possession. And when they tackle, all tackles should be counted.
"Suva needs to play it smart. Age might be a disadvantage to them but experience is also vital. All they have to do is to play disciplined rugby and make use of every opportunity when it matters."
Suva will rely heavily on their players such as skipper Ilitomasi Nawalu, Emosi Mulevoro, Samu Bola and Aporosa Kenatale to lead the charge in tonight's encounter.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm.
