IT may be their first time to take part in a national competition but All St Secondary School has come fully prepared.
The school is one of 60 taking part in the Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Competition which began at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, yesterday.
Team coach Vika Komai spoke to Times Sport and revealed the school had been successful in winning the Labasa Zone last year but did not participate in the national event.
"This is the reason the girls are so determined to come here and take the trophy back to Labasa," she said.
Ms Komai also said they were looking to work on some areas where they might lack strength.
The side comes to Nadi with high hopes.
"We know some selectors might be present at the games and there will be nothing greater if some of the girls are selected," Ms Komai said.
"The support so far has been great and many ex-scholars have also shown up to show their support."
The school has a team each in the U17 and open grades.
"Our U17 won their first game against Nadi Muslim 15-5 while our open grade lost their first game to Wainimala Secondary School 7-5 and won their second game 11-4 against Nausori II."
The girls now have four more rounds of games which will determine their contention in the play-offs of the school's competition.
