LIFE has been made easier for Dharam Raj, 58, after the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation gave him a wheelchair on Wednesday.
Mr Raj, who is suffered a stroke, was in tears when officials from the Vodafone Fiji Limited handed him the wheelchair at the Physio and Spinal Injury Ward in Tamavua Hospital.
The foundation has been engaged in helping people in need of wheelchairs since 2010 and this initiative is in partnership through its World of Difference candidates and charity partners.
"I am greatly indebted to the organisation for its kind gesture. Now I can move around without complications," he said.
"This is indeed a relief and a blessing in disguise for me."
Vodafone Fiji's finance officer Atish Lal said: "I'm so passionate about this donation because it gives satisfaction, especially when we are able to bring smiles to people who are in such a situation.
"It not only makes a difference in someone's life but the family as a whole. The patient's son is a close friend of mine and from the time his father got sick, I have been personally involved with them to provide comfort."
Foundation executive Ambalika Devi said the wheelchair was in partnership with the Vodafone World of Difference charity partner Spinal Injury Association.
