MINISTRY of Defence, National Security, Immigration and RFMF Strategic headquarters staff members took time out of their work schedules to give back to the community last week.
The group, that usually holds a community outreach program every Friday, cleaned up the Pearce Home in the centre of Suva as part of their latest community outreach program.
Ministry staff member Marica Rinakama said the quarterly program involved staff members cleaning up homes of unfortunate children and the elderly.
On the first quarter of the program, the group cleaned up the National War Memorial and worked on St Christopher's Home in Nakasi with Dilkusha Girls receiving their attention in the second quarter.
And the 25 staff members gave Pearce home a new look with their latest project — cutting grass, scrubbing and gardening — during working hours from 2-4pm.
"We are hoping to visit St Giles or Samabula old peoples home on the fourth quarter of our program," Mrs Rinakama said.
