THE Health Ministry intends to buy $0.9million worth of equipment for all major hospitals and health centres in the country.
Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma revealed this while receiving $25,409 worth of equipment from the Hibiscus Events Group and the HART Foundation at the CWM Hospital last Friday.
Dr Sharma said the equipment would be brought in three months and would help better the services provided in the hospitals' accident and emergency departments.
"Government is committed to improving its service delivery and we are in the final stages of procuring $0.9m worth of equipment for our emergency departments not only in Suva but Lautoka, Labasa and the 16 sub-divisional hospitals," he said.
Dr Sharma said the CWM Hospital was also undergoing a major restructure in a bid to provide more efficient services to the people.
"Facilities in CWM Hospital needs to be upgraded."
