MACUATA paramount chief Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has urged people in Seaqaqa to prioritise their children's education for the purpose of developing the area.
He made the comment while opening the four-day Seaqaqa Festival on Wednesday night.
Speaking in the iTaukei language, Ratu Wiliame said it was only proper to prioritise children's education because they were leaders of tomorrow.
Such a festival, he said was a time to gather the people in the district together to raise funds for projects aimed at benefiting their children.
Ratu Wiliame said quality education for children in the district was necessary because the government had tabled major development projects for the area.
Some of the projects include the construction of a multipurpose hall and Seaqaqa being declared a satellite town.
