ABOUT 10,000 people are expected to attend what is expected to be the biggest Episcopal Ordination of the head of the Roman Catholic Archdioceses of Suva, Archbishop Elect Father Peter Loy Chong.

The Episcopal Ordination of Father Chong will take place at the Vodafone Arena in Laucala Bay on June 8, the date which also marks the celebration of the Feast Day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The church protocols and the dictates of Canon Law had Archbishop Emeritus Petero Mataca resign from his duty to the Vatican upon turning 75 in 2008. Pope Benedict XVI appointed Father Chong on December 19, last year.
