Gesture of affection lands dad in trouble

Mere Naleba
Wednesday, April 17, 2013

A MAN who kissed his son after meeting him in Suva, yesterday appeared before Magistrate Alipate Mataitini charged with breaching a Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO).

The court heard that on February 2, Jonacani Bola met his father-in-law and his son walking towards the bus stand.

Mr Bola approached them and kissed his son but his father-in-law reminded Bola of his DVRO and reported the incident at the Totogo Police Station.

Mr Bola admitted during his interview that he had kissed his son.

The court heard that Mr Bola is still legally married to his wife and because of the DVRO against him, he now stays with his sister.

The matter has been adjourned to May 5.
