Update: 2:30PM FIJI'S draft constitution does not allow same sex marriage.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the laws in Fiji state that marriage is a union between a man and a woman.
"It does not say marriage is a union between a man and a man. It does not say marriage is a union between a woman and a woman," Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
"Somebody may be homosexual but it doesn't mean that we discriminate against them, it doesn't mean we say to them you can't get a job, you can't go to the pub, or you have to go to the back of the queue ... all those sorts of things."
He said the way the draft constitution had been drafted did not mean that you can have same sex marriage.
