NATIONAL rep Kitione Tavo was the tormentor and destroyer at Albert Park yesterday.
He was the top scorer and chipped in with two wickets to help HMT Army win the Suva Cricket Association Round Two final.
Moce One was beaten by 26 runs in a thrilling final.
The soldiers batted first and raked up 117 runs from their allotted 20 overs. Tavo contributed 30 and fellow national rep Jone Seivou 21 runs.
Bowling for the opposition, Vili Turaganikoro took two wickets for 19 runs and Viliame Tawatatau had two for 22.
In reply, Moce was all out for 91 runs in 19 overs.
Turaganikoro top scored with 37 runs. Bowling for Army, Kida Tikoivanualevu returned with excellent figures of two wickets for seven runs.
Tavo took two for 22 runs.
In the plate final, Sarafui proved too strong for Moce Two. Batting first Moce Two scored 103 runs with Waisea Motu clubbing 22 runs.
Sarafui surpassed that score with the loss of only one wicket with Colin Rika finishing 81 not out.
Oneata beat Police by six wickets to bag the bowl final.
SCA president Adriu Misiki said the focus now turned to the Easter Championship where the capital city side will field three teams, the Warriors, Crusaders and the U19s.
"We had a very successful season with far more teams compared to previous years," Misiki said.
"We are looking forward to an early start for the 2013/2014 season. We could begin as early as straight after the Hibiscus Carnival in August."
