Update: 2:58PM INDISCIPLINE on the field almost cost Fiji dearly as the side scraped past Spain 22-12 in the second Hong Kong 7s pool match.

Osea Kolinisau was sinbinned in the opening spell for a late tackle as Fiji led 12-5 at break.

Kolinisau was also yellow carded in Fiji's opening pool match against Hong Kong last night.

Coach Alivereti Dere said they had a few areas to work on before they take on Canada at 10.54pm (Fiji time).

"This game was different from yesterday's. We wanted to play in their own territory and defend against them. Spain really tested us compared to the first game," Dere said.

In-form Ilai Tinai and Samisoni Viriviri scored for Fiji in the opening half.

Riddled with numerous basic errors, Fiji managed to start second spell on a high with a try from Ulaiasi Lawavou to extend the lead to 17-5.

Spain bounced back with a converted try from Jaike Carter before Red Rock player Jasa Veremalua sealed Fiji's 22-12 win with a brilliant touchdown in the dying stages of the match.

The win books Fiji's place in the cup quarters tomorrow.

"We still have got a lot of things to work on, especially our set pieces, the scrums, lineouts and the rucks," Dere said.
