Update: 12:47PM FIJI will be the first country in the world to switch-off for Earth Hour at 8.30pm tonight.
Earth Hour is a global grass-roots movement encouraging individuals, businesses and governments around the world to take positive actions for the environment by switching off for one hour.
World Wildlife Fund South Pacific communications manager for Patricia Mallam said this year's lights-out would take place between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
In Fiji, the official program will be staged at the Sukuna Park in Suva.
Earth Hour is described as the world's largest movement for the planet.
