Update: 12:21PM FIJI coach Alivereti Dere this morning demanded his players to stick to the game plan as the Hong Kong Sevens contest intensifies.
The former Hong Kong-winning captain said the Digicel-sponsored side will need to lift its game when it faces Spain at 2.06pm (Fiji time) and Canada (10.54pm, Fiji time).
Canada demolished Spain 31-7 last night and appears to be the bigger threat in this pool.
But Dere is first concentrating on the Spaniards, who showed glimpses of their potential.
"We will want lift it to another level in the next two game," he said.
"Our defence is what we will be working on to improve and it is always our aim to minimise the rucks."
Former Fiji coach Etuate Waqa, who is preparing his Tongan side for Day Two at So Kon Po, said the 36-0 win over Hong Kong last night was a good start for Fiji.
" but they were not really tested like what the Samoans were enjoying," he said.
