IN a bid to improve its umpires and bench officials, the Suva Netball Association (SNA) conducted a three-hour clinic at the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee House yesterday.

Association secretary Lusi Robanakadavu said the umpires and bench official clinic was only for the interested affiliated members.

The former national rep said they would host three clinics leading up to their knockout tournament on April 20 at the National Netball Centre.

The other two clinics will be held on April 6 and 13.

"Aside from the usual umpires clinics we hold every year prior to games, we will also be running a bench officials clinic to be officiated by certified Oceania bench official Ruci Camaitoga," Robanakadavu said.

"This is the beginning pathway in getting those that are interested in acquiring umpiring and bench official accreditation to achieve this as well as building a more coordinated and effective umpires and bench official pool for SNA.

"SNA wishes to upskill and upgrade its umpires and bench officials this year," Robanakadavu said.
