NETBALL Fiji coach Unaisi Rokoura is focusing on improving the agility of national players following the second fitness test two weeks ago.

Although she was impressed with the results during the beep test, the former national skipper said there were still room for improvement in the remaining months leading up to the Pacific Netball Series in June.

"The test was a follow up to the one we did in January and it was good to see improved results," Rokoura said.

"One area that we need to start working on is the agility of the players and we need to sharpen this area.

"But overall the girls are doing well."

Rokoura said the preparation was going well with players taking responsibility at the training runs.

She said their High Performance Unit training was intense but players were coping well despite their personal commitments.

"We have started focusing on more specific court session.

"We have been working on our fitness for the last two weeks and because of rain, we had to move our training to the National Fitness Centre," Rokoura said.

"Also the HPU training has been intense, despite the girl's work and school schedule, they have been consistent.

"We must always take extra step forward from the rest of the teams if we have to retain the title."
