THE Housing Authority is now investing more in its staff through training programs in Fiji and abroad.

More than 35 sponsored authority staff members are undertaking programs related to its organisational needs at the Diploma, Bachelors Degree, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree level.

Authority chief executive officer Alipate Naiorosui said in line with their training policy, they had invested in their people to study hard.

He said their staff would also bring strategies to improve customer service, land and housing productivity and overall performance.

"Of the sponsored staff, women make up 44 per cent of those staff members who are returning to further their education," Mr Naiorosui said.

"Apart from bonding our graduates to contribute to our organisation, the trickle-on effects of training our people will be felt in the medium to long-term with more experienced graduates in the area of land management, construction management and real estate," he said.
