THE government has confirmed an investigation into claims by the Taliban that they have recruited Fijians is in its initial stage.
And the Ministry of Defence is awaiting police investigations to conclude before it makes further comments.
The principal assistant secretary of the ministry's Security and Intelligence Division, Viliame Wilikilagi, confirmed the investigation was in its initial stage and they were awaiting word from the police.
Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said investigations into the claims were continuing.
