THE Fiji Football Association has opened the player transfer window earlier than scheduled to be in line with the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League.
A statement on the Fiji Football website said the window opened last Friday and would be open for the next weeks and would close on April 12.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar said it was necessary to change the dates of the window to comply with FIFA regulations.
"Due to the changes in the season as implemented this year , it was necessary to change the Window Period to comply with the FIFA Regulations on the "Status & Transfer of Players," Kumar told fijifootball.com.fj.
"Further we had approved the second window for the season from 1/4 to 15/4/13 to align it with the OFC Champions League which was scheduled to kick off in May.
"OFC however has brought forward the OFC League to commence from 30/3/13 and upon request have agreed that on our window dates may also be brought forward."
