Update: 2:14PM VILLAGERS of Nabua, Lomanikoro in Rewa celebrated World TB day today with the theme STOP TB - In my lifetime.
The celebrations were part of the Ministry of Health's efforts to move toward creating a TB-free Fiji.
Speaking at the celebrations, WHO-TB regional consultant Dr Ogtay Gozalov said Fiji had achieved commendable rates of success in TB treatment.
"We highly appreciate the efforts taken by the Ministry of Health to address challenges in the country. And as a result of those efforts we have very positive and very promising results of the integration of TB in primary and community health care," Dr Gozalov said.
"Your country has achieved absolutely impressive results in treatment success rates."
