FIJI Rugby Union coaching director Franck Boivert will now head the FRU Academy as the national academy program manager.
FRU Media said Boivert applied for the job last year and was the successful candidate.
Boivert is one of the most qualified employees at FRU and holds a Masters in Political Sciences, a PhD in Geography and a Diploma in Physical Education.
His coaching degrees include an IRB International Licenced Trainer, an IRB Level 3, a Federation Francaise de Rugby Level 3, a Federation Francaise de Rugby a 13 (Rugby League) Level 1 and a Federation Francaise de Tennis Level 1.
FRU High Performance general manager Mike Ryan said the identification of young players and the support and education they received as part of an academy program was crucial to the development of Fiji Rugby into the future.
"The academy will be a Fiji Rugby Union Academy, there may be opportunities to collaborate and share resources with other academies, but it is first and foremost a Fiji Rugby Union Academy for the development of young players to go on and represent Fiji at the highest level."
Also promoted were FRU Medical Coordinator William Koong to the newly created IRB sanctioned position of Manager Sports Science and Sports Medicine, receptionist Mereti Din to development unit administrator and Leba Nasilivata to customer services officer.
