THE University of the South Pacific (USP) was acclaimed for its education quality in the Pacific region at the Melanesian Week celebrations on Monday at its Laucala campus in Suva.
The celebrations mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG).
Chief guest Sir Michael Somare said USP was an example of regional integration.
"I consider it very relevant that my address is being given at USP, a bastion of intellectual exchange amongst Pacific peoples and arguably one of the best symbols of co-operation in our region," Sir Michael said in his keynote address.
