ABOUT 20 members of a community education committee were part of an income-generating project update and operational plan workshop in Suva on Monday.

Those participating at the workshop comprised different representatives from the early childhood education centres in the Central Division.

Save the Children Fiji chief executive officer Asilika Rainima said small income generating projects could turn out big only if people had the will, heart and mind to achieve their goals.

"Save the Children is working towards emphasising sustainability in our centres for the children and we have to work together to provide the best for the children," Ms Rainima said.

Save the Children Fiji Vuli Taumada Shishak project manager Barbara Ratabacaca said a research was carried out every year in the centres to assess community education committee functionality whereby the skills and resources available in the centres were identified.

"The community knows best what resources are available to help in generating income," Ms Ratabacaca said.
