Update: 9:52AM A CRESCENDO of cheers filled the air in the capital as the A330-200 flew over on its maiden flight home at 9.40am.
Students in schools around Suva and workers in the city rushed out to catch a glimpse of the flyby.
With the word FIJI proudly displayed on its belly, the aircraft circled the peninsula before flying off towards Nausori.
It heads straight for Taveuni, Savusavu, Labasa and turns back towards Viti Levu, flying over Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka then touches down in Nadi where celebrations await it.
