Return money, commission tells boxer

Update: 2:38PM BOXING Commission of Fiji is asking Junior Farzan Ali to return $750 given by the promoters for preparation of the Naidiri Boxing Promotions bout that happened last Saturday.

Farzan failed to feature in the fight against Opeti Tagi after withdrawing in the last minute citing injuries to his wrist.

Rey Anton Orlarte was roped in from Australia and he won that middleweight contest via split points decision.

Commission director Malakai Veisamasama said Farzan had to payback 25 per cent of the promised purse given for preparation purposes by the end of next month.

"According to the translation of the commission chairman (John Rabuku) who is also a lawyer, his refusal to take medical assistance was indication for his refusal to participate," Veisamasama said.

"Appropriate actions will be taken if he fails to return the money on time."
