Roy scores in NZ final

SIBERIA lad Roy Krishna helped Waitakere United lift the ASB premiership in New Zealand yesterday.

Waitakere United defeated Auckland 4-3 in the final.

Krishna the leading goal scorer in the competition kept Waitakere United in the match with a 90 minute equaliser after his team was down 2-3.

Former All White Allan Pearce netted the winner for the Waitakere United in extra time.

Earlier Manel Exposito scored for Auckland City in the 16th minute while Krishna equalised in the 29th minute.

Waitakere United went up 2-1 though Pearce three minutes later.

The side led at the break. Exposito claimed his double in the 74th minute before Chris Bale put Auckland City back ahead in the 89th minute.

Roy's last minute equaliser forced extra time in which Pearce netted to ensure victory.

Roy has played 75 premiership games in New Zealand netting on 55 occasions.
