LABOUR mobility and development assistance are two key issues affecting Pacific Island Countries (PICs) under the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations between Pacific States and Australia and New Zealand or PACER Plus.
These were discussed at length during a two-day workshop on PACER Plus negotiations facilitated by the Office of the Chief Trade Advisor (OCTA), which ended in Nadi on Friday.
Chief adviser for PICs, Edwin Kessie said completion of the PACER Plus agreement was about three years away and labour mobility and development aid were two critical issues that needed resolving.
